Reunited at last, the Bone cousins believe they’re just a few days away from leaving the valley for good. But before they go, Fone Bone and Thorn spend the day at the Spring Fair, where our love-struck hero meets a rival for Thorn’s affection. Meanwhile at the Barrelhaven, Phoney and Smiley are working off the last of their debt to bar owner Lucius Down and secretly taking bets from the hapless locals as part of Phoney’s latest get-rich-quick scheme – fixing the outcome of the Great Cow Race!
